Our objective is to build bridges between Long Island's future workforce, our youth, and our growing and diverse manufacturing and business sectors.
Mission Statement
Our Mission is to promote and educate our future workforce on the potential career and job opportunities in business, especially manufacturing, in the skills needed to succeed.
What we do:
- We are the "boots on the ground" that interface and communicate with individual companies and individuals. (High schoolers, veterans, and mildly incarcerated)
- We mentor and discuss with students on their job aspirations and company's expectations.
- Attend and demonstrate at Science and Career Fairs.
How we do it:
- Educate furture employees that manfuacturing has evolved past the 3D's — dirty, dark, and dangerous, to a clean, well maintained and safe environment that offers excellent benefits and opportunities.
- Coordinate by reaching out to form a joint effort between companies and future employees for long term retention through internships and apprenticeships.
- Stress the need for certain skills that transcend from manufacturing into many other businesses.
What we can offer:
CLIMB has developed a series of learning modules to inform students, teachers, and parents the skills, opportunities and trends in today's manufacturing business world. These modules can be presented as short overviews or instructional tools.
What we hope to achieve:
- Perpare students for real world manufacturing and business employment.
- Improve manufacturers abilities to hire and retain new employees - students, veterans, and the mildly incarcerated workforce.
