Tom Hicks

Tom is a Sales and Marketing Management professional with extensive experience in B2B precision component manufacturing. He has a Bachelor's degree in Economics, several manufacturing certificates, and is the co-author of two semi-permeable polymer material patents. He has been the Vice President of three plastic products companies and is a 29 year resident of Long Island.

In addition to his responsibilities at CLIMB, Tom is a Vice President of the Suffolk County Archaeological Association where he also serves as an instructor in Long Island archaeology as well as colonial era blacksmithing and woodworking. Tom is also "a beginning" golfer.

John Scala

John is a Supply Chain and Distribution professional with extensive experience in Manufacturing and Operations in the communications, biotech and nutraceuticals fields. This includes operations, forecasting, project management, inventory control, and packaging and distribution systems. Also he has managed teams during the break up and divesting of companies. He is now a consultant for small and medium size distribution facilities.

Longtime Executive Board member for the Meadowlands Chapter of the Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP), and the Long Island Live Steamers (LILS). Member of the Association for Operations Management (APICS) and the American Society for Quality (ASQ).

He has an Economics degree from Fordham University, with additional studies at Michigan State University and has certificates as a Six Sigma and a Packaging Professional. He also was an instructor for a number of years at New York University.

Robert (Bob) Fried

Bob is an Operations Management Professional with extensive experience in the Operations Area of manufacturing. Bob has specific experience gained in over a thirty plus year career.

Director of Test and Equipment Operations in a Major Long Island Semiconductor Company. Responsibilities included, Management of over nighty five technical and operations staff, Scheduling of busy Production Test Area, Developing Operational Budgets, Productivity Measurements, Performance Appraisals, Training and Development of Technical Staff.

Managed the purchase and qualification of Multi-Million Dollar Semiconductor Test Systems.

Assisted in the disassembly and transfer of Long Island based Test Area to a Test Facility in Taiwan.

Traveled Internationally on Technical Semiconductor Quality Testing Issues.

Manufacturing of Military Standard Telecommunications Systems.

Bob has held DOD and NSA (COMSEC) Security Clearances.

Bob has a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Management from the New York Institute of Technology and is a lifetime Long Island Resident.

John J. Eff, Jr.

An experienced senior management professional in the utilities and energy services industries. He has specialized experience in facilities/infrastructure, cogeneration, distributed generation, alternative and renewable energy management in the commercial/industrial, manufacturing, educational and healthcare marketplace. He is Co-Chair of NYIT's Energy and Environmental Advisory Council (EEAC), a member of the Long Island Association (LIA) Energy Committee and active in the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), the Hauppauge Industrial Association (HIA) and the Molloy College Sustainability Institute.

He is an Adjunct Professor at New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) in the College of Engineering and Computing Sciences teaching graduate on-line, distance learning and lecture courses in Facilities Management/Infrastructure, Energy Efficient Lighting, Energy Technology and an Internship Program. Previously, he taught both undergraduate and graduate lecture and on-line engineering courses at Stony Brook University.

John holds an MBA from C.W. Post College at Long Island University (LIU), a BS in electrical engineering technology from New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) and an AAS from Farmingdale State College. He is a Distributed Generation Certified Professional(DGCP) in the Association of Energy Engineers(AEE).
